All It Took

All It Took

A Story by Iliza Gold

I handed her my cigarette and she took it with a smile.
Devilish grin, more like it.

"Cheers," She said, before inlaying deeply.

As I watched her breathe in and blow out that white smoke into that magical blue night sky,
I realized something that both calmed me and terrified me,
but most of all, confused the s**t out of me.

I loved her.
Plain and simple.
One smile. One look. One puff.
And that was all it took.
