Near-Death Experience

Near-Death Experience

A Poem by Stephanie M
"

This is a poem about a near-death experience.

"

I look down from above

and I can see myself

although I cannot move

nor can I even talk

I can see the faces

and hear them pronounce me

dead

I try to cry out to them

but I'm trapped in by own body

A silver cord binds my soul

A sound of booming thunder

A tunnel of mosaic stone

The iron gate clanks shut

A sound of unearthly music

The Astral Gates beckon

to a place of immense beauty

A time, a place, without reason!
