Catch Me If You Can

Catch Me If You Can

A Poem by Sue
"

It was a week when all the world seemed in chaos and I needed an outlet to what I felt...

"

I leap, bound and set alight

Fires burning in the night

I smile, laugh, rub my hands with glee

Run faster because you won’t catch me

I whisper, lie and set apart

People trying to make a new start

I flit and fly with billows of smoke

Making life such a huge joke

I capture and torture unfortunate minds

Beleaguered by doubt, love left behind

I rage and roar, dancing on their graves

Making each one of them my slaves

I’m quick and fast, haven’t got much time

Got to fill my world with cruelty and crime

I’m wilful and violent yet afraid you see

Because hope will one day be the death of me
