Artist's Statement

life = art

My life as an artist opens up a whole new spectrum of creationism from the work I inspire to the way I brush my hair in the morning. Being an artist is more than pencil on paper or oil on canvas. It's the ingredients & technique I use to make my dinner, the splash of red wine for caramelization or the way I brown shrimp in the skillet. Everything I create defines me as an artist but also shapes me as a person as well. It is the inspiration for my work while my work also inspires me to look within myself & find new facets of my personality to demonstrate to the world. I display my emotions & inner most personal thoughts through each stroke as my emotions transition from an encompassing problem, joy, love or seething hate; the process of art is a catharsis & it defines my personality in an unprecedented way. I am a masterpiece (of art) in my own definition.
