Dust

Dust

A Poem by terry smith

Love can suck your soul dry
like a vampire
leaving just
an empty carcase,
a locus skin.
empty..
fragile..
delicate..
knowing someday,
someone
or
something
will
crush
 you
into dust
and you
will disappear
 in the wind
and be forgotten
forever .

as long as we forget too.. i think the most painful thing to do, is live with memories we wish to forget..

Talk about depressing, Mr. Smith, but at the same time a type of bitter beauty lies just beyond the surface of all your poems. I have a question though, why is the poem organised like this exactly?
