Heavens Liaison

Heavens Liaison

A Poem by terry smith

Pray tell what form of sorcery be this
when noontime's day turns to darkness of night
some say a celestial lovers tryst
that robs us & the day of warmth & light
be it a sign this briefest of meeting
if so I must most grievously protest
that love here below should be so fleeting
for such a love be a fancy at best
that in a fortnight leave thy heart bleeding
yearning for embrace of a love professed
for could thy heavens be so misleading
impaling loves true crime a heart confessed
I wish to love in a world without end
embrace with no space my lover & friend
