Mouth full of grit

Mouth full of grit

A Poem by terry smith

your chrysalis
falls
time it calls
& shatters
at my feet
releasing you
into
the blue
to be set free
of me
i take the shards
shuffle the cards
inject them
into
my blood so deep
you trip my mind
I feel it climb
into your masterpiece
I fade within
succumbed by sin
it is
my
only
peace
& after all
the church bells
 call
I rest here
on my knees
wishing you
would come back to
the hell
you shared with me
after a while
i give a smile
to my
incomplete
when nighttime
comes
I lay with guns
& wander
empty streets
& after all
i find you
there
a thousand kisses deep

A lot said in the poetry. I liked the honest tone and directness of the thoughts. Strong flow of thoughts led to very good ending. I wanted to know and read more. Thank you Terry for sharing the amazing poetry.

Hi Terry Smith:This is so cool and reminiscent of some of the stuff written during the sixties.
