The Dreamer

I believe in you.

A dreamer

does not follow a path

designed by other men.

He forges ahead

and follows his heart

as only a dreamer can.

 

Though sometimes

he grows weary

and others block his way.

His eyes are clear

and his purpose strong

to guide him everyday.

 

His dreams

are full of wonders

that others don't understand.

They lead

him to cross oceans

and seek out better lands.

 

And when

his dreams are realised

and he is a contented man.

His heart

sets other goals and dreams

so he can be the best he can.

 

Though now

his dreams are formless

and their outcome is unclear.

He strives

to make his dreams come true

to do better every year.

 

And if

they do come true

as dreams so often do.

The benefit

of that dreamer's work

should spill over to me and you.
