A Life Once Lived

A Life Once Lived

A Poem by The Voice Inside Me

Summer rain,
spits down on my window,
lightning in the distance,
crackles with its' need,
for me.

Silver dagger in hand,
glittering with every crack and bolt,
already smeared,
with scarlet blood.

Wrists sliced open,
new ones every minute.

Feel Pain,
they whisper,
Feel Pain For What You've Done

Hot,
steady tear drops,
flow from my eyes.
Will never cease,
till the day I die.

Lightning cracks,
dagger gleams,
a new scar that will never heal over,
is here.

New blood,
new pain,
all welcome.
all welcome.

Shaky hands,
grip the dagger,
which gleams with my own blood.

Just Do It.
The weapon calls,
End It All.

New resolve,
tonight's the night.
say goodbye.

Last words never spoken,
all promises broken.
They will get on without.

Random slashing,
new pain.
all welcome.
all welcome.

Final target,
one place in mind.
Both human and dagger,
know best.

Only one way to end it,
as the weapon strikes home,
right in the place where feeling is felt most,
last goodbyes still on my lips.

Fare thee well,
a life once lived.
