Children of the Sun

Children of the Sun

A Poem by thewholesoul
"

A hopefully inspirational Sonnet about the nearest star, that is, our sun.

"

The Sun, the sun, who seeks no praise
Yet so much do we owe
Each dawn she fills our sky with light
So life may green and grow.

Such burning love without respite
Sweet altruistic rays
Distinguish not 'tween friend or foe
Could Man but heed such ways?

And only on this Earth bestow
A love both warm and bright
To face the dark with hearts ablaze
Because we know it's right!

So shine! Just shine! We children of the sun,
Our souls were sewn from starlight, finely spun!

It's funny, our Sun was the first thing we ever thought to worship, and all over the world, throughout time we have always returned to it. Very nice, I especially like the call for us all ourselves to shine at the end, a great touch. Keep it up!
