I can't stand people who smile in your face for years - then talk about you behind your back

My heart is heavy
my mind is full
my body tired
too tired to pull

Too tired to pray
then turn the cheek
and hear cruel words
in your secret speech

My mind is heavy
my  heart turned blue
trying to muster love
to pray for you

Trying to muster love
to not be through

Trying to muster love
that is not due you

Trying and Failing
then starting anew
'til your malice creeps in
and devours that too...

Great job!!! I'll admitt when I read the title and saw the little picture I was certain this poem was going to be a parody of facebook or something. ~.~;; Buut I was pleasantly surprised when this took a more serious turn. I like the subject here because I think it is so sad when people try their hardest to be friends with someone who is just rude, or cruel. Life is too short for dealing with that! Great write! :D

Wow, this is really good. I agree, the last stanza is very profound and memorable. I love the feel of this. Like you're just trying and trying to keep being nice, but you just are exhausted with it. What they're doing is cutting you to the core. Eventually you just give in as they destroy even the undeserved kindness you're attempting to give them. Nicely done. I like this.

... immensely simple yet intense expression ... i so know what this is about and the last stanza is absolutely fantastic ... "till your malice creeps in and devours that too..." ... is an unforgettable expression ... great verse ...
