SHE SAID SHE COULD

SHE SAID SHE COULD

A Poem by G

she said she could
make me love her

but what do you do
when its not food you hunger for

but why would
she want to do that
she never said anything
about loving me

she said she could
make me love her
but why would
she want to do that
knowing that love to me
is synonymous with pain
my heart has been
padlocked
turned to stone
and my blood ice

she said she could
make me love her
but why would
she want to do that
i have a graveyard full
of broken promises and shattered dreams
the walls around
my heart
has moss growing
do i even know how
to love anymore

she said she could
make me love her
but why would she want to do that
we spend hours
talking
sharing
even loving
she said
she understands
what i need

she said she could
make me love her
but why would
she want to do that
there's a no vacancy
outside my door

she said she could
make me love her
how could she
hate me so

she said she could
make me
