The Soldier That Never Left

The Soldier That Never Left

A Poem by Sarah

There is a soldier,
Heart Brave and strong,
The soldier never got to go,
Was held back and abandon.
They say never leave family behind,
That's just what they did.
Left their family under a fire fight.
The Heart of the soldier still fighting
While the body weakens.

Can a soldier be that never sees combat?
Can one take pride that they have beaten life?
What about responsibilities passed on?
Can a soldier be someone having a rough night?
What if this soldier stops for family?
Fighting a war is fighting with family right?
Then can a soldier be a soldier,
With no gun in hand?
