Lamentation

Lamentation

A Poem by Victory H. Izevbekhai

Always coming at the wrong time
Is there even a right time
With bloodthirsty claws he
pounces in and takes a precious life
Your breath is gone
And we're left to mourn
Those loving eyes forever closed
Never again to see the sun
Forced shut by the death demon
It's with tears that I pen this one
Can I say I know the pain?
What the hell does hell stand to gain?
By taking you away
Leaving a void never to be replaced
Oh It can never be the same
Friends and fam are weeping
A beloved one is gone
Brothers and sisters lamenting
Oh death why must you come?
