The Gathering

A small little squirrel
runs frantic on a spree
quickly gathering nuts
that he must store in his tree

For winter is coming
he knows this for sure
and he will need quite a bit
if he is to endure

so he scrambles and hunts
and collects each one he sees
by now he has so much
he has filled two trees

finally he relaxes
the hard work a thing of the past
warm and full our little friend
smiles and nods off at last

now I know why those winter squirrels have such fat bellies.....two trees full of nuts! lol. this is adorable...I love watching the squirrels when they are gathering...although sometimes they make me feel quite lazy!
