life

i am overwhelmed
by the beauty of the world
the development of humanity
i may be losing my sanity
i guess its worth it
for these drugs
for
they mask my sadness
and make me happy
for a brief time that is a trip
i'll be relieved a few days of hell

The concept of this poem saddened me, but mainly I guess because I am a very different sort of person than the voice speaking here. I choose to see beauty around me and be happy without any form of enhancement, just myself, my emotions and my eyes. I know not everyone is able to do that however and must find other ways to experience peace, happiness, and mask pain. I only wish there was more help available to these individuals.
