A Last Taste Of Life

A Last Taste Of Life

A Poem by GetTheHellOut

I know how you want me dead

I can feel your hate

the way you look at me

with those crimson eyes

I came here for the last time, where we met

in this enchanted forest

where you first whispered to me

how you wished that everything were different

Staring at the lake

mesmerized by it's brilliant highlights

gazing at the starry sky

knowing that soon you'll be here

Singing along with the wind

as it hits and destroys everything around me

I fall down

for the last time

I tried to smile at you, but I couldn't

How I wished you could see this tragic irony

I tied to look at you

but something was sucking away all the light...

The final blow

the last taste of life

before the end

my end...

Dark and haunting, I think the true beauty of this poem is how one can look at the magnificence of life with such adoration before meeting their demise. Well written.

Vamp girl, you know, this is quite a brilliant piece! full of irony in the vivid and good imagery that is filled with the life of the earth, yet that the persona is seeing in the last moment of life.

good choice of words. keep on writing ! :)
