You Without Me

You Without Me

A Poem by Adam Awdish

Dark.

Alone.

Sad.

Anxious.

You without me,

The worst place to be.

Warm inside your sheets,

Nose- to- nose, kissing, cheek- to- cheek.

You long for my presence,

And I long for yours.

Why are we separated by such impenetrable doors?

We feel the dark closing in.

We both are alone.

You’re not the only one sad,

I’m anxious too.

It goes both ways,

This is me without you.

Our love holds strong,

Even though our minds waver.

Once we are together again,

The happiness could never be greater.

You are my body,

My mind,

My soul,

My rock.

Stay strong for me dove,

Don’t let your wings be clipped.

Don’t be tied down in your sadness,

Spread your wings and fly.

Fly,

Fly to me,

Then we can always be happy.
