Thank you for Everything Chester

Sad;

Broken

Can’t believe what I heard

Worse than a worst nightmare

He didn’t even know me

But his music was there for me

his friends, his fans, his family

This really hurts, today, we all feel empty

the person who got me through rough times,

now took his own life

Sometimes what we see is not real

Sometimes we can’t help how we feel

I know he is in a better place

the scars, the pain are things time can’t erase

it still hurts , it’s true now that he is gone

but It’s also true that legends live on

You shared your story, struggles talent.

Thank you for encouraging openness

Thank you for de-stigmatizing issues

You and your words will always be an inspiration to me

Thank you for Everything Chester

R.I.P legend

My favorite quotes:

I was a geek who thought I was cool. I didn't hang out with a particular clique, but with different people from different cliques. I was a total nerd, trying to fit in. Luckily, I found music and that was my niche. That sorta took me out of my geekdom. I was never invited to parties as a teenager - I turned up with the popular people. That's where the lyrics to 'Guilty By Association' came from.

Chester Bennington

Some kids are so depressed at home and with how people treat them in school that they cut themselves. This happens all over the world - kids who don't want to kill themselves, but nobody understands how much they hurt, so they cut themselves with razor blades.

Chester Bennington

It's cool to be a part of recovery. This is just who I am, this is what I write about, what I do, and most of my work has been a reflection of what I've been going through in one way or another.

Chester Bennington

This news was especially hard to take yesterday. I was a huge fan of Linkin Park ever since they started with Hybrid Theory. There’s no telling how much time I just spent listening to their music. It’s definitely a part of my memory growing up through teenage years and well into college. I was amazed at Chester’s talent. His range and ability was distinctly his own and you felt everything he sang. I hope that whatever pain he felt is far away from him and he found peace. He came out of darkness that I wouldn’t wish on anyone and if that continued to contribute to his mental state recently…well I can only speculate. In any event, yesterday was a great loss and tragedy.

Thank you for reading!
The emotion that I feel from this poem gives me stingy chills. I did not really listen Linkin Park at all, but Chester was an extraordinary human being. I'm really happy you wrote this in dedication! :)

Though, I was not a huge fan, I still respect him and his work and the positive things that he stood for. It's hard to think that, say from our perspective that he could do this, but it is a reminder that it doesn't matter how much money or fame one could have, our heart still hurts that same, our money issues are still the same, family problems are still the same, loss is still the same. I hope that he rests in peace with his dear friend Chris. :( I am happy that you wrote about this, its a good awareness to always remind everyone we love them and are there for them. A very nice tribute. :)

Thank you so much :)!
I remember when I heard about this, I was seriously shocked about it. It was such tragic news. I didn't grow up with Linkin Park, but a lot of their music definitely influenced a lot of my writing. Chester was such a distinct singer, and a kind soul. He went through a lot of messed up stuff in the early part of his life, and although he fought as hard as he could, he eventually gave in to his depression. He did, however, touch the hearts of millions of people before he left. This is a touching tribute to him.

i always wanted to meet him ever since i heard his music it was so deep and sincere it felt like he was only his own person and he bleed every bit of that in his music it always hit me so hard that dark sadness and anger and that pure wanting of a better world i only ever heard him talk on a few videos every now and then but he is a beautiful soul his words illuminated and drived me forward in some dark times in my life made me want to fight back and find reason to why i exist and why there is so much pain in this world i hope if there is a better place i hope that he is just living it up and inspiring people like he did here i wont ever forget the feeling that he and his music evoked in me.

I feel the same ! Thank you for the review!
I thought I could watch Linkin Park perform with Chester, I had hope... but some things are just not meant to happen. I wish I knew him too, of all those imperfections, through his lyrics and amazing voice, I see him as a person with so much beauty inside himself. Some people judge him, they fail to see what was beyond the face of such a famous rockstar. His song, his art... it's just sad, tragic... I really hope people understand more about mental health, depression and the likes. And your poem Zaisham is beautifully wrapped with raw feelings and honest admirations, a tribute to a legend. ;)

You're welcome. :)
It is always sad when someone you admire passes, no matter how. I can't say that I know his music...much too old for that...but it doesn't matter, I know how you feel through the loss of some of my musical heroes. There is an emptiness, a shock that overcomes the emotions. Sorry for your loss Zaisham, but your poem is a fitting tribute.

I wish I knew him, but I have no idea who he is. I only heard about his death through WC... Regardless, hearing about anyone dying, whether I know them or not, makes me want to die inside. I can tell through your poem that he connected to many people and people as if his music spoke words to the soul. I love the little glimmer of hope at the end, too. Love and memories never die; just people. Great job and I hope everyone who knew him recovers heathily.
