To Have a Heart, is to Have a Friend

To Have a Heart, is to Have a Friend

A Poem by Hello, Goodbye
"

..I need to search my mind, to communicate what my heart revealed...

"
Yesterday, I was feeling so distraught
That I desired to talk, but then felt like giving up
So I hoped, that hope, I could restart
So I hurried furiously to a friend.. my heart

It glanced at me and reached for my arm.
And I screamed: I want Death! Life is so wretchedly wrong!

And I asked, if there is a point to this place?
Is there even a single point, in saving face?
Should I struggle and bleed.. just to ascend forward?
Is there a single worthy thing for which to move toward?

And my heart just stood there stone faced watching.
And it stood there smiling and shaking at what I said.
He said I speak too much that for this moment I should be silent.
That he will continue this conversation instead...

And then it said:

You focus too much on gaining death.
You worry to much about not wasting your breath.
But in that time, life is passing you by.
Fleeting it is, while you scream and cry.

Let me sharpen your limited perception.
Its your heart, this time, that will ask a question.
What is the point.. in complaining so much?
In that feeble fuss, you lament, yet also you lose touch.

To choose Death is lazy and at that an easy thing.
How can your voice be heard, if you are never bold to sing?

Yes, failure is what life is all about.
But also..
About the ability to swerve away, from a down spiraling rout.

Of course you wont always feel a giant gain.
Yet, you can't reach a smile with out a bit of pain.

This speaking heart, will always aid you in becoming free.
Especially, if you fuel your mind to the highest degree.

One thing this heart can say, is that we never work alone.
It takes multiple entities, to move a heavy stone.

I, as your heart, can say but one more thing.
I will deliver hope, as long as candidly, you sing.

For you will never loose the love in this loving heart.
You can be a secret, but yet still, a shinning star.

Believe in me and I will lead the narrow but worthy way.
I shall kill your fears and be an advocate, as you pray.

Before you leave, please listen to this that I say.
Your heart will never forsake or lead you in the wrong way.

I think that this is very thought-provoking as it is one of those topics which few people actually write about. epic :)
