Time for a Contest -- Appalachian Writers  September 6, 2011 - September 27, 2011

I was telling a friend the other day about my adventures watching the leaves change. My darling daughter asked if that was anything like watching grass grow. I've never watched grass grow. It may have special charms I'm ignorant of . . . but the point of the story is just that it's been too long since we've had a group contest. Write something about wildflowers or leaves changing or the direction of the wind. Write the natural world in a way that it climbs off the page and sits next to me.
