![]() Step 1A Lesson by Faolan![]() Just basic![]() "Hello, teacher? Are you seriously giving this to me?" "Um. . . yeah. . ." "What is this thing, anyway?" If you are begging me to stop, I feel your pain. Funny, eh? No way, Faolan! Anway, who knows RATE? RATE is basically a way to quiz yourself and ask questions about the story. Below, I will show you what each letter means: R and A: Restate and answer T: Text support E: Explain S (additional): Self support Anyway, what do these mean? Well, Restate and Answer is easy. You simply restate while answering. Here is a example: R and A: The leopard struggled in the winter because it was cold and he wasn't used to the weather. Get it? Its pretty easy. Now, onto the Text Support: Text Support: On page 167, it says, "The leopard struggled. It was freezing outside. He wasn't used to this weather." The Explain part is a little hard, but it won't kill you: Explain: That means that it was freezing outside, and the leopard wasn't used to the weather at all. A lot of people get the Self Support wrong. It isn't mandatory, but it is usually required: Self Support: I wasn't ready for the cold weather in Canada because I always used to live in Hawaii. (lucky!!!) It may be a bit difficult, but when you learn it correctly, you will be a wiz at doing this. After you finish reading a book, maybe you can ask yourself questions like: Why was [this happening or whatever?] Anyway, I will make a next lesson shortly. Thanks!! Comments |
