before Scotti had a chance to say that she had to leave -- because I think I embarassed her, I nudged her and said that I have to get up and check on something. I fumbled out of my chair and slid out the side exit into the elevator hall. My eyes did not peel away from where my unusal neighbor was sitting while I was walking out.
