Hello out there Kentucky, how ..
Hello out there Kentucky, how many of you all are from here and how17 Years Agodid you find this place? How long has this group been going? As you will notice I have bunches and bunches of my stuff in here for you all to read now. I live near the Lake Cumberland area and have been writing since I was 13 years old. I have been published lots of places for free and none for pay yet, I may be trying to work on that? We will see all I know is I have to write, writing is the closest thing you get to my soul. Some of it is serious and some of it is just for play. Janie

[no subject]17 Years AgoHi, Janie. I don't live far. Richmond. I started the group a few weeks ago. I couldn't find any groups for writers in this region. I meet people from other places all the time. I wanted to meet writers who know where I'm from, who some from the same experiences.
Can't wait to read your writing. . . Emily |

[no subject]17 Years AgoDuring college I lived down in Whitley Co, which is very close to Cumberland Gap. I love Kentucky (and not just the b-ball). Raised in Kentucky for the majority of my life has taught me what it really means to be country and a red blooded-American. I'm so happy to find that I'm not the only one on WC who lives in KY.
Oh, Emily... we don't live too far apart. I live in Anderson Co, right next to Frankfort. Did you go to Eastern? |

[no subject]17 Years AgoWell, it looks like I found the Briar Patch. lol Was born and raised in Breathitt county and later Jefferson county. I now live in Hardin county on a small farm I own.
Emily and me have started a small website as a forum for Kentucky writers to gain exposure. Come by and check us out. You may find you have something you would like to post there as well. We are on the hunt for contributors! |

[no subject]17 Years AgoI went to UK. I'm in Lawreceburg just about every other weekend. My best friend lives there and I've found she's just about a half hour from everywhere important. We went to Perryville on Saturday. Next weekend we'll be in Danville for the Raintree County celebration.

[no subject]17 Years AgoI have a son who has lived in Louisville for the past 10 years, and I go visit him and his daughter when I can. It's a 13-hour drive for me, but beautiful!

[no subject]17 Years AgoAhhhhh, Louisville. I know it well. I split my childhood between there and the mountains. My mother and son still live there, in Valley Station. When I grew up most of that was all farmland, now it is mostly developments and subdivisions. I now live about 40-45 miles southwest of there outside of Elizabethtown in Howe Valley.
What area of Louisville does he live in? Since the recent changes, all of Jefferson county is considered Louisville now...and the urban crawl continues. |

[no subject]17 Years AgoI am here in Middletown, Ohio. There are so many of us here we call it Middletucky. My father in law once asked me what was so great about Kentucky. After I finished laughing I told him. ''Ralph,'' I said, ''If I can't live in Kentucky, I can live anywhere, but if I can live in Kentucky. I can't live any where else.'' Since I have Grand children here I am here. Like the Apostle Paul I have learned to be content in whatever state I am in.

[no subject]17 Years AgoI can understand that, Frank, when I married I lived with my husband in Brown County, Ohio, for two years. After his mother passed away he brought me back where I ought to be. I can't imagine living any other place in the world than my Kentucky.
Welcome to any new group members! I'll be putting up a new Feature Contest soon. . . . |

While I have spent most of my life floating about The Rust Belt, I have visited Kentucky a couple of times, most notably Emily's place of residence (my brother is a proud EKU grad), where I got extremely drunk and even more ill. That Dickel's is some mean bourbon... |
