               Twas the night before school and my children weren't in bed,
all because they didn't mind me or hear a thing I said.

It was me all alone without a supportive spouse
and all kinds of fighting was going on in the house.
I did the best I could but it wasn't good enough,
my children were hyper, Taking care of them was rough.

I stood there in my nightwear, all ready for bed
And fought the strange voices inside my head.
The children were loud, running up and down the stairs
While me in my stupor was thinking, "Who cares?"

I awoke from my daydream and opened an eye
"Go to your rooms now! I said starting to cry.
"Please go to bed or you will all be grounded"
Then I threw a shoe and they looked astounded.

It was getting late and thoughts filled my head
I wished they would mind me and get into bed.
My Job was rough, being the Mother and all
My duty was hard and I continued to bawl.

My children saw my tears and asked me, "What's wrong?"
I was very upset when I needed to be strong.
I told them that they needed to behave in my care
Because their behavior is too hard to bear.

My children put me to bed with a hug that was sweet
They knew I was tired so they rubbed my sore feet.
Soon I was dreaming in the peace of the night
my children went to bed and everything was alright.

I feel lost and alone when my kids aren't here with me. They go to their Dad's for visitation.I miss them so much.

The most important thing between parents and their children in my opinion is letting them know you love them but also making sure they learn respect of parents and others...parents should also respect their children.
