I am just wondering if anyone here has used the Amazon self publishing system. I just want to know if it is any good and if it will reach the audience. Any knowledge that you guys have of this system would be greatly appreciated.

Publishing on Amazon will only make your book available - it won't sell it for you. In that respect you're entirely on your own.Me? I'm crap at marketing so my novel is swallowing mud at 1,500,000 in the Amazon charts, even though it's probably the most amazing book you'll read all year.There are all sorts of marketing strategies plugged on various sites, and I suppose if you're the out-going type and are prepared to put in the gruelling work you might generate enough sales to make you feel it was worth it. Even if you write crap women's sex fantasy shite you still need to find a market first (although mainstream publishers gobble these up and might even offer you a contract. However, that's not writing, it's prostitution).Maybe the best advice I can offer is, write because you want to.
