I recently acquired and read a book Stephen King wrote that was part-memoir, part-writing advice and let me just say it was simply wonderful. Though I must admit I skipped over the memoir (I wanted to know what he had to say about writing!), his opinions and thoughts on writing are both practical and simply fascinating. I highly suggest reading it if you are looking to hone your skills as a writer. :)

Definitely one of those books I'm incredibly glad I read.  So much insight, so clear. I loved the memoir part because of the story.  It's hard to find another writing book that is not full of fluff, or supposed techniques to succeed.  It's honest and to the point.
