What advice would you give to an aspiring writer so he or she can become a better writer?

Here are my suggestions:

1.  study the English language and the writing craft
2.  practice writing every single day
3.  post your writings and submit them to magazines on and off the Net
4.  believe in yourself
5.  never give up
