It's Time

Shane goes down hard.
He still tries to get up, but can't.
I generate my lightning and smirk. "I can kill you right now, but Amon needs a messenger alive. Tell him that the brawl begins where the benders will rise again!"
Shane stares at me furiously. "Not if I knock you down."
I roll my eyes. "Have you seen your face since I breath fire at it?"
Shane growls and tries to jump up, but fails on his back.
I turn around and leave and go back on the surface of the ship.
"Jo!"
I turn to my left to see Tasha flying Mochi in with Valentine and Marty behind her. Mochi comes down and I hop on her.
"Yip yip," said Tasha.
Mochi flies back up into the sky.
"Sissy," said Marty. "Is Shane.... Gone?"
I shake my head. "No."
"You didn't kill the admiral when you had the chance?" ask Valentine. "I knew you were a weak fire bender!"
"Really because every fire bender could generate blue fire and lightning at the age of fourteen," I said.
"Stop it Valentine!" order Tasha.
Valentine sighs.
"I left him alive so he can face Amon and tell him that we had enough!" I said.
Valentine raises his eyebrows. "What?"
"Before Marty and I left Republic City, she said that we must rebel against Amon and the Equalists once and for all," I said. "At first, I didn't think I could do it with just me or I have to wait until Marty is older. But since - as much I hate to admit - that you Valentine, are a excellent water bender and Tasha is a strong air bender, we can go by each area and restore it to what it once was before Amon's ancestor, Amon I, took over. You know - back when Eastern Republic was the Air Temples, the North and South Republic Poles were the Water Tribes, the Western Republic was the Earth Kingdom, and the Southern Republic was my family's home, the Fire Nation."
"You think that just us three benders and a little boy can bring back order?" said Valentine.
"Slowly," I said. "It'll take some years, but I think we can do it."
"Uh uh," said Valentine. "No way! Maybe if one of us was the Avatar, but we're not!"
"But aren't you sick of hiding?" I said. "I know I am. You know what - before you met us that day, Marty told me that his teacher said that benders were demons and was afraid that maybe she was right. Now no bender should ever feel like they are evil just because of Amon's teachings that he brainwashes everyone with!"
Valentine rolls his purple eyes.
"Look, when you and Tasha are older, maybe ten years from now," I begin, "Have kids, do you want them to live this life too? Do you want them to either hide who they are in the Republics and listen to people calling them names or keep running away from the Equalists forever?"
"She's right Valentine," said Tasha. "We can make a difference."
Valentine says nothing.
"Avatar Aang was frozen for a hundred years in a iceberg. When Katara, his future wife, and Sokka, his brother-in-law and friend, found him, Aang discovered the Hundred Year War and that his people, the Air Nomads - my people - were wiped out. He had to learn and master three elements - water, earth, and fire - and stop the Fire Lord, Jo's ancestor, Ozai. And he was just twelve. Katara was fourteen. Sokka was sixteen. His earth-bending teacher and friend who was also blind, Toph, was just twelve also. Fire Lord Zuko, before he even became Fire Lord and Jo's ancestor, who taught Aang fire bending and became his friend was sixteen too. And guess what - Aang defeated Ozai and Zuko was crown Fire Lord and both of them restored peace in the world."
Tasha looks deeply at Valentine.
"If they could do it, why can't we?"

"Besides, this rebellion was gonna start soon. The avatars here somewhere." Tasha brought up.
"Here we go." Valentine groaned, knowing the story numerous of times.
"She appeared in my dream, she needs this to happen if she wants other benders to unite." Tasha said, glaring at her boyfriend.
"Korra?" Jo asked.
"Yeah her, but the last avatar behind her also speaks with me." Tasha said. "He also wants this to happen. So were going to the Southern Water Tribe."
"All right!" Valentine said excitedly, whipping out a lollipop and putting it into his mouth. "Back to my roots."
"Yeah, we'll start the rebellion there." Tasha said. "Water benders are ones that don't like being meddled with."
"Kay, then move onto Ba Sing Se." Jo said.
"This is awesome, like a road trip!" Marty excitedly said.
"Except our lives are constantly on the line." Valentine said, rising up and taking Tasha spot. "i'll drive from here."
He looks over to Jo and Marty and says "Don;t show off your fire bending, they're a lot of people who have been through worse thanks to your kind."
Jo glared at Valentine who returned his attention to the road. Tasha moved over to her and said "Don't worry, he's warming up to ya."
"really?" Jo asked sarcastically.
"Well....he would've killed you by now." Tasha said and looked back at Valentine. "He's really been hurt...."
"you mean those scars under his sleeves?" Marty asked.
"Yeah...." Tasha said. "He's given up a lot....So don't hate him please."
Before Jo could actually, Tasha moved up and joined Valentine. She laid her head on his shoulder and he bushed up the ribbon hiding her arrow and kissing it. Jo saw the smile he gave her, such love, such care as if she were a precious gem. Jo sighed and thought This is gonna be an interesting relationship....

Longing For Daddy

"You got it!" I said, proudly.
Marty puts down his fists. "Really?"
"Yeah," I said.
"What are you two doing?" said Valentine, suspiciously as he continues to lead Mochi.
"I'm teaching my brother fire bending," I said.
"WHAT?" he shouts. "ON HERE?"
I roll my eyes. "He just does the moves, no fire coming out..."
Tasha puts her head up from his shoulder. "Relax Valentine."
From here, I can hear Valentine's angry inhale.
"Of course, he can learn the moves, but is too afraid of the fire that comes out of the moves," said Valentine.
"YOU KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT!" I said.
"I CAN KILL YOU!" yell Valentine.
"Really?" I said. "Because when we fought, you didn't come close."
Valentine breathes out, furiously, obviously still upset about it. "You didn't come close either!"
"It wasn't my intention to kill you," I said.
"Really because in the end, you generated lightning and threaten me," said Valentine.
"Only because Marty came in and I knew you would try to hurt him," I said.
Valentine breathes out of his nose.
"Hey, we can have a rematch anytime," I said.
"There will be," said Valentine.
"Enough!" call Tasha.
Valentine and I go to silent.
I lay down on Mochi's back with my hands on my head, watching the stars.
'I'll be back. Maybe not tomorrow, next month, next year, next decade, but I will come back for you, Jo, and Marty. Don't forget.... Please don't.'"
"Sissy."
I look to my right to see Marty laying down next to me. "You're thinking about our Daddy again."
I put my right arm around him. "Yeah."
He turns to his side and puts his head on my chest. "I wish I can remember him."
"Don't feel bad," I said, rubbing his head. "You were just a baby."
Marty's gold eyes widen. "What happened then?"
"I don't know.... I only wish I did," I said.
"Why isn't he back yet, Jo?" ask Marty.
I sigh. "I don't know..... But he love you and me. He did - I heard it in his voice and felt it when he held us."
"Can you tell me about him again?" said Marty.
I give a slight chuckle. It always brings Marty comfort when I tell him from what I remember about our father in that short memory. It brings me comfort too....
"His voice was strong, but not scary, caring, but not naive. When we were in his arms and listening to him, I never felt so safe.... So protected. It felt like it was just me, you, and him that existed. For that time, I forgot about the tragedy that I was seeing. And his face.... He had hair like yours - brownish black, straight, and thick."
"And he had blue and green eyes like you!" blurt out Marty, happily.
I grin. "Yes.... He did. He look right us with those eyes.... They had so much strength, will, wonder..... And hope."
"Hey sissy," said Marty. "Since Tasha has talked to the last two Avatars, do you think maybe she can contact our great-great-great grandfather, Zuko, and ask him where Daddy is?"
"I don't know," I said. "She might."
"Can you ask her?" said Marty.
"I don't want to ask her such a huge favor," I said. "Especially since we just met her yesterday."
Marty looks at me with his gold eyes. "Do you think Daddy will ever find us?"
I look back at him and up to the black sky, the stars seem to have grown brighter. "I think we need to find him."

They continued cruising through the skies till the cold weather hit them. They had to land when a blizzard blocked all view and made shelter in a cave. Tasha and Jo got a fire ready, Valentine hunting for fish in the frozen over ocean and Marty keeping warm besides Mochi who had long ago fallen asleep. Valentine returned with two arms filled with fish, skewing them on a stick for each of them (Tasha ordered him to get one for Jo and Marty) and let them cook over the fire. Valentine looked at the snow covered landscape, breathing in the snow and saying "Its been two years since I came home....I wonder....."
He dug through his pocket and pulled out a silver whistle. He blew on it for a couple of seconds and waited. After several minutes, they heard a bard/roar coming from the blizzard. Valentines face brightened up as a polar bear dog approched, lunging and tackling him into the snow. It licked his face excitedly and he laughed,
"Beck!!" Valentine excitedly said.
"That's his?" Jo asked.
"Yeah, think of it as his only family left." Tasha explained. "He had to leave Beck behind when he travel with me. We were in a hurry cause those terrorists were on our tail. Seems like Becks been waiting for Valentine all this time."
Beck turned and spotted Tasha, soon lunging and licking her face as well. She laughed and pushed the over sized pooch off who walked over and joined Mochi and Marty.
"What a sweet heart." Tasha said.
"Yeah, at least this one has manners." Jo said, sending a glare at Valentine who only glared back.
"You know with a snap of my fingers I could have him maul you." Valentine warned. "Watch your back."
"Seems like your too chicken to fight me." Jo challenged.
"Guys." Tasha said.
"Your challenging a water bender in the snow, in a blizzard on the night of a full moon?! You must be ready to die!" Valentine spat.
"Guys." Tasha said,
"I'm not scared, you should be!!" Jo said.
"Bring it FIREBENDER!!" Valentine said.
They were both greeted with a staff smack them across the foreheads, hard. They both cringed going to their knees and groaning at the pain.
"SHUT UP!" Tasha bellowed, the animals stirring and Marty looking at Tasha in fear.
"That hurt....." the two groaned out.
"Next time you guys bicker, pick fights or even dare to have a duel, you'll have to go up against me first!!" Tasha said.
Valentine flinched at her warning and Jo noticed.
Is he....scared of Tasha? Jo thought.
"Understand?" Tasha asked, she seemed to have cooled down.
"Yes." The two said.
They smelled the fish and Valentine soon took them off and served them to everyone. He sat next to Tasha who didn't allow him to place his arm over her shoulder. With a simple glare as her warning, he backed off.
"Tasha, I haven't really seen you fight...." Jo brought up.
"Oh shes strong!!" Marty said. "You should've seen her!!"
"Thanks Marty but since I'm a monk I don't normally fight." Tasha admitted. "Only when necessary."
"Which is every time we get caught by the Equalists...." Valentine said.
"Yup." Tasha said.
Jo and Marty giggled and continued "I can't wait then."

20 Questions

(Forgot to say before, but no problem Imaginator! :)
"Unlike you," said Valentine.
Tasha turns to him. "What did I just say?"
Valentine continues to eat his fish.
"How you like it, little man," I said to Marty.
"Good, you always make good food," said Marty.
"I caught it," said Valentine.
"I cooked it," I said.
"With your fire bending," said Valentine.
"Exactly," I said.
"Guys," said Tasha.
We pause.
"Well, I'm not saying this in a mean way," said Valentine. "But by the sound of it, you seem to always cook with fire bending."
I shake my head. "Well yeah - when Fiona wasn't looking which was most of the time."
"Fiona?" said Valentine. "You call your mother by her real name - what a -
Tasha gives him a mean look.
"How unique," said Valentine.
"No, she's our foster mother," I said. "Has been after I turned eight."
"Wait," said Valentine, suspiciously. "I thought you are the heirs to the Fire Nation - where are your real parents?"
"I don't know," I said. "I haven't seen my father since I was eight, right before we send to live with Fiona. I don't remember anything that happened since before then."
"Did he leave you?" ask Valentine.
"Something happened.... I don't remember what, but it's the reason why Marty is.... Not into fire bending," I said, in that way. "Then my father said he would come back for us, but hasn't... Yet."
"And let me get this straight," said Valentine. "You were practicing fire bending all this time, and just now got caught?"
"I let myself get caught," I said. "A innocent man was about to get executed for having books about bending in his home. I couldn't let that happen."
"But how did you practice since you couldn't do it in the house since it would burn down," said Valentine.

Valentine was slapped in the back of the head by Tasha who scolded "Stop prying into her personal life!!"
"No, no, its okay." Joey said. "You guys saved us and protected Marty when I wasn't there. You guys should know."
"Tells us when your ready." Tasha comforted, seeing Joey clench her fists. "We can wait."
Tasha gave off a motherly aura which comforted the two, Valentine was still an iffy but it was nice to have a peace maker in the group. Once Joey was finished with her food, she leaned back and cuddled into Mochi's thick fur. Tasha yawned widely, soon sneezing and shivering. Valentine dug through their luggage and pulled out a thick blanket.
"Cold?" Valentine asked.
"Yeah....but I'm fine." Tasha said, rising and Valentine following. "You should keep yourself warm, I don't want you to freeze over like you almost did last time."
Valentine only chuckled. Tasha climbing up Mochi and bringing Marty with her. She put him in a comfortable position and covered him, helping Joey up and having the two siblings cuddle and sleep.
"You baby them too much." Valentine said.
Tasha shushed him and hopped down. Valentine put out the fire and said "I still don't think they should be here."
"Valentine, you need to let go of the past." Tasha said. "Those firebenders are long dead and you know it."
Valentine turned and replied "Yeah, cause I killed them."
They didn't realize Joey was listening, eyes wide.
"I'm....aware....." Tasha said. "Avatar Aang always said to learn how to forgive, that's when your truly powerful. Taking revenge won't help anyone especially yourself."
"I couldn't forgive the Tasha!" Valentine nearly shouted but was silenced by Tasha covering his mouth. She shushed and gestured to the sleeping benders behind them. Valentine relaxed, taking her hand and kissing her palm making her blush as the kissed traveled to his knuckles.
"I can't forgive them, not after they took my parents away.....especially what they did to you...." Valentine said, eyes looked at Tasha. Tasha tried to pull back but was only grabbed and the fabric surrounding her waist was pulled up to reveal a long burn on her side. Valentine bent down and kissed the burn saying "I'll never leave you again....do you understand."
Tasha pulled down her shirt and pulled away replying "I know...."
They heard Marty groan in his sleep and turn over, catching both of their attention. Tasha said "I'm tired, i'm going to sleep."
She made herself comfortable and faced away from Valentine as he made him Tasha.

Going South

When they are asleep, I sit up and look out to the sky.
I read about my people - secretly of course - back in Republic City. I knew what they did, but actually hearing it from Valentine made it truly hurt.
And he was right - Marty and I are babied.
I just let her though. Tasha has been nothing but nice so I hate to argue with her. Besides, my whole life since Marty and I were separated by our father (which I still don't remember why), I always had to be the parent. Even though Fiona was a true good person in the end, I did pretty serve her - as a slave without any help. Between taking orders from Fiona, taking care of Marty, doing homework from school, and training as a fire bender, I really didn't get a chance to relax.
I just didn't realize that until now, but even now too, I'm not completely relax - we have a rebellion to plan which will take years....
I turn and look at Marty.
Marty didn't have it easy either. Sure, he wasn't order around by Fiona, but he was confuse - probably still is - about everything. Marty didn't understand - and still doesn't - why our father isn't here or any other family, why we had to stay with Fiona, why Shane is after me, why benders need to hide, and why I did everything for him.
Yes, he understands what is going on, but not the meaning of it. He's still only six-years-old. But, Marty shouldn't have to understand this or go through this. He should just be able to live in a beautiful house with parents in a great area and be able to fire bend without worrying about getting taken away.
Instead, things are like this.
I close my eyes.
Why can't I remember what else happened that night? Why?
~*~
The next morning, I wake up Marty and start a fire.
Valentine brings in more fish and doesn't even look at me or Marty.
Better then the death glare.
"The blizzard has seems to clear," I said. "I think we can take off."
"Yeah," said Tasha. "After we eat this delicious fish. Thanks Val!"
She kisses him on the cheek.
Valentine smiles like he always does with Tasha.
"Sissy," said Marty. "How long is it going to take to go to the South Republic?"
"Hours," I said. "But if you sleep half the time, it'll go by fast."
Valentine opens his mouth, but closes it.
I guess he's finally listening to Tasha about leaving us alone.
"We need a plan," I said. "But I should go into South Republic first - just to buy you guys regular clothes."
"Why can't we wear these?" ask Valentine, kind of mad.
"Because you'll get arrested," I said.
"WHAT?" yell Valentine.
"Dude," I said. "It's the law - you can't wear clothes that weren't made before Amon's takeover. Anything that is Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Air Temples, or Fire Nation is forbidden."
"That's ridiculous," said Valentine. "I know, but it's the law for now."
"Valentine, this is why we are rebelling," said Tasha.
"If you were back in Republic City, you would get kill for wearing them," I said. "Central Republic is the strictest of all the Republics."
"But since we are rebelling, shouldn't we wear these?" said Valentine.
"Not yet," I said. "We need to find others like us in South Republic that will rebel with us - like an army - to fight the Equalist rule in there. If you guys just walk in there like, it'll already be over."
Valentine sighs. "Fine. But don't buy us the same clothes you're wearing."
I roll my eyes. "Whatever. Let's go."

Kaj walked out of the door of the little hut that she lived in for the past 14 years, and called, "I'm off!"
An elderly woman came out of the door and said worriedly, "Are you sure you'll be alright?"
"I'm sure mom!" Kaj replied smiling, "You're such a worry-wart."
Then an elderly man came out of the hut and patted Kaj hard on the shoulder saying, "I'm sure you'll be fine. I trained you well, after all."
"If you say so, Albert." The woman said, resigned. "Do you have everything?"
"Yes!" Kaj replied.
"Okay then, have a safe trip!" The elderly couple said together.
"I'm off!" Kaj said, walking deeper into the forest.

Joey and Marty were sent into the South Republic, buying the clothes that were need for. They returned quickly, Tasha changing behind Mochi while Valentine made a quick igloo to cover himself. Once dressed, Tasha ordered Mochi to take Beck and fly through the sky in the clouds, find the water tribe and land there. The four benders began to walk on foot. Joey turned back and noticed Tasha remove the bandanna from her forehead to reveal a blue arrow.
"How do I hide this?" Tasha asked.
Valentine handed her a headband which kept her hair back and Valentine began to braid her long hair.
"There." Valentine said, eating another lollipop.
"Lets go." Joey said and they moved into the city. Joey could tell Tasha was tense, the staff strapped to her back as they walked.
"Excuse me miss, whats that staff for?" an Equalist asked making the four freeze.
"M-my staff?" Tasha asked.
Crap we forgot to give it to Mochi!! Joey thought, panicking.
"Yes that staff...." The Equalist replied. "Seems rather unusual to have one."
"She's taking martial arts and they were teaching her how to channel her chi blocking into the staff, just in case the opponent is too far apart." Valentine easily replied.
The men looked at him till one said "I've heard of that!"
"Yeah, terribly sorry, we're on the look out for an air nomad, two fire benders and a water bender. Sorry again." the man said.
Valentine gave them a smile and replied "No, no, its alright, with criminals like those out here I can see why your so tense."
After saying goodbye, they moved on.
"G-Good cover." Joey begrudgingly said.
"Please, even I have some experience in lying." Valentine bragged. Tasha kicked him and replied "No bragging."
But she seemed a little embarrassed at the fact that she couldn't come up with a lie that quickly. Valentine threw an arm over her and pulled her in saying "Don't worry sweet heart, you'll learn!"
She only sent a glare at her boyfriend and muttered "Shut up...."

The Fight Is On!

Back in the capital of South Republic Pole, (come up with a name later), the troops of South Republic Pole line up.
Nelek comes out in front of them. "Gentlemen, soldiers, I would like to present the admiral of our emperor, Amon, Shane."
Shane comes out with his hands behind his back, walking in front of the troops in line.
The troops straight out their chest with their heads up.
"Now," said Shane. "Listen well and obey good. The race of benders has not been extinct like we thought so long ago, but there are right now, only four - there might be more though. The four are planning a rebellion to end the rule of our beloved emperor. If we don't find them and stop them, they might just do that - but I don't have to worry, right, because it will end right here in the South Republic Pole. DO YOU HEAR ME?"
"YES!"
"WHO ARE WE FIGHTING AGAINST?"
"THE BENDERS!"
"WHAT WILL WE DO TO THEM?"
"DESTROY THEM!"
"AND WHO WILL WE FIGHT FOR?"
"THE EMPEROR!"

Kaj ran through the trees excitedly, picking berries off bushes as he ran past. She smiled an thought, I'm so excited to go to Ba Sing Se. My parents never let me go anywhere off the hill!
Kaj came to a deep drop, and was about to use earth bending, when she remembered her father's words, "Don't use bending. People nowadays don't like it. "
"Okay, I'll be careful," Kaj whispered, then looked around.
Seeing that no one was there, she used her earth bending to make a bridge, then after she had gotten to the other side, the bridge had disappeared.
Kaj hummed happily, and continued on her way.
Just a few more days 'til I get to Ba Sing Se. Exciting!

Tasha, Joey, Marty and Valentine walked to streets, buying food ingredients and other supply that would be needed. As Valentine looked around, he spotted someone that around her neck wore a water bending betrothal necklace. It was hidden but Valentine had a sly smile as he excused himself from the group.
"Well....whose the lucky man?" Valentine suddenly asked the girl who flinched and clutched her necklace tightly.
"W-What're you t-t-talking about?" the girl asked and Valentine pulled her in.
"Don't fret, I'm one as well." Valentine said, slinging an arm over her shoulder and continuing "Come with me, you seem lost."
"I-I'm trying to get to the Southern Water tribe." the girl whispered.
"Don't fret, we'll get you there." Valentine whispered back.
"There you are!" Tasha scolded. "Whose she?"
"Shhh, darling."  Valentine said, finger to her lips to keep her quiet. "She's getting to the same location."
Tasha, looking suprised, replied "Oh!"
"Now follow us young one." Valentine said. "Don;t mind those fire breathing beasts over there their tamed."
Joey had the urge to kill him but Marty stopped him.
"Lets just go!" Joey said. "We've got everything we need to get through the next couple of days."
They took their things and were about to exit till they were blocked by Equalists. They found themselves surronded and they made sure the water bender was protected.
"May we help you?" Joey asked.
"Turn yourselves in, were aware your benders." one said.
"Were simple citizens just on our way home." Joey said, keeping Marty close.
An Equalist spring, going for Tasha who only side stepped and the man missed, falling on his front.
"Arrest them!" one ordered.
"Now hold on!" Valentine defended. "She didn't do anything."
The men were stumped. Valentine firmly took Tasha's hand and pulled her in saying "I wanted this to be a surprise....."
"Huh?" Tasha asked.
"Where are you going at?" Joey whispered.
"We're going to the temple to get wedded." Valentine announced dramatic like. Everyone looked at them in shock, especially Tasha who turned outrageously pale.
"I-I had no idea!" the water bender girl said.
"D-d DON'T TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY!!" Tasha scolded.
"Who would've known...." Joey added.
"Yeah....it was bound to happen.... Marty said.
"E-EH?!" Tasha asked.
She was swept off her feet and caried bridal style.
"Come comrades, the wedding awaits us!" Valentine declared and they bolted out. The Equalists just stared and soon went back to their daily lives.
~* ~
"W-wh-wh-why?" Tasha asked,face red.
"Only thing I could think of." Valentine said.
"Who're you anyway?" Joey asked.
"K-Karin...." the water bender replied.

"So you know any other benders around here?" I ask.
"No," she said. "Except I was told by my fiancee that there are still people left from our tribe, but very few. The most is probably ten."
"Jeez, I wonder why," said Valentine.
"Dude," I said. "The Equalist are the ones that wiped out ALL of our people, not the fire benders! Just because they hurt you doesn't mean they did that to everyone and are the reason things are like this! It's Amon, Shane, and all of the Equalists, not us fire benders because the last time I checked, Equalist are AGAINST bending and fire benders are FOR bending!"
"You wouldn't understand since you lived a life of luxury!" said Valentine.
Tasha grabs him by his forearm. "Valentine, stop it!"
"You don't know ANYTHING about my life!" I cried. "And you know what, I'm sorry Tasha, but Valentine and I just can't work it out."
"Karrin, stay with us," said Valentine. "You don't want to be around these fire benders."
Karrin says nothing, not wanting to get in the middle.
"Marty and I will stay in South Republic Pole until you guys get back," I said, grabbing Marty's hand and turning around.
~*~
Out by the ocean, Marty and I sit alone with no one around.
"Sissy," said Marty. "Why does Valentine hate fire benders so much?"
"Some of them took away his family," I said.
"Not Daddy, right?" ask Marty.
"Definitely not Daddy," I said.
~*~
Shane look out on the balcony of the South Republic Pole's Front Fortress.
"How are you doing sir?" ask Nelek.
"Just fine, Nelek," said Shane.
"Okay sir, I'll let you know if there are any news of the benders," he said.
"Thank you Nelek," said Shane.
"Welcome, sir," said Nelek, leaving.
Shane takes out a necklace from under his armor. It is a simple circle locket. He opens it to see a picture. It is Shane when he was six and his older brother who was fourteen.
"In time, we will meet again Jorge."

Valentine, Tasha, Joey and Mary escorted Karin to the Southern pole just as promised but in silence. Tasha was smack in the middle of Valentine and Joey to ensure they wouldn't break out fighting again and Marty was besides Karin who looked down at the snow. They reached the Southern pole and Karin was quickly reunited with her fiance. Once thanked and fed, they were offered to stay the night in a nice small igloo. Joey kept herself and Marty warm but Valentine who was accustomed to the cold bundled up in his sleeping bag and slept. As Joey opened her eyes, she found Tasha escaping out the door and into the snow. Curious, Joey followed. She stayed a distance as Tasha made her way out of the village and stood in the moon light. She pulled out a whistle, shaped like a bison and soon Mochi came strolling in, happy to see her master.
"I missed you too girl." Tasha said and sighed, leaning against Mochi who seemed to sense her sorrow. Beck hopped off and licked her fingers, earning a oat on the head.
"I just wish Valentine would just let it go." Tasha said and gave a hallow chuckle. "Then again....it was his best friend who killed his family."
Joey let out a silent gasp which Tasha heard and brought down her staff, making a giant gust of wind hurl at Joey's hiding place and knock her over. Seeing it was only Joey, Tasha said "Wha-what're you doing here? You should be asleep!"
"Don't baby me, what happened with Valentine?" Joey asked, Tasha wide eyed.
"I can't." Tasha replied, turning away.
"Why not?" Joey asked.
"Because....this is something Valentine can only tell you." Tasha replied, hearing Joey snort.
"Yeah right, as if he'll talk to me." Joey said, feeling a tight grip on her shoulders and being forced to look Tasha in the eye.
"He's just confused....He used to believe that all nations were one as well." Tasha said. "But....they betrayed him."
"Who?" Joey asked.
Before Tasha could reply a net had captured her and made her fall to the side, weights on the end so she couldn't air bend her way out. Joey turned, only to find Equalists surrounding them. She kicked at the air and fire blew from her foot but the Equalists dodged and went for her. She was able to block their movements but some got past and went to Tasha who was trying to worm her way out of the net. She was seized by the scruff of her shirt, her chakra blocked so she couldn't air bend and she was hoisted on one of the mens shoulders and taken away. Mochi helped by slamming her tail down and causing them to fly off, Beck biting at the men as he tried making his way to Tasha. Joey kicked a man in the stomach, spotting Tasha being taken away and went for her as well. As Tasha got the feeling back in her neck, she looked around only to see them completely surronded.
"Stop, go back!!" Tasha yelled, the three stopping. "I'll be fine, just go get the others and go!!"
"We're not leaving you!!" Joey said, racing at them but being stopped by Beck. She struggled and was soon seized by the arm by Mochi, thrown up into the air and landing on Mochi's back. Beck boarded himself and they took off. Joey looked back seeing Tasha being loading into a metal tank and taken inside where it slammed shut and began to drive off. She gritted her teeth, taking the rope and saying "We need Valentine!"
(okay PrincessZeldaWannaBe, its all u!!)

(Be patient with me lol!)
Mochi flies me back to our igoo that Valentine made for us earlier.
Beck jumps down as soon as we land along with myself.
I rush inside and shake Valentine.
"Valentine, wake up!"
Valentine sits up, angrily. "Wow, you want to challenge me fire bender in the middle of the night?"
"No, Tasha has been taken by the Equalist," I said.
"WHAT?" His dull purple eyes now light up with panic.
"We need to go and save her," I said.
Valentine jumps up right away. "No, I need to save her. She's my girlfriend."
FINISH LATER!

"Hell no, I'm coming too!!" Joey said angrily.
"Just stay put and protect your brother! I don't need your help!!" Valentine said.
The two started their arguing waking up Marty who rubbed his eyes. Watching them fight, seemed to have made something snap inside him.
"STOP IT!!" Marty screeched.
The two stopped and looked at him in shock.
"Now your gonna fight for whose gonna save Tasha?!" Marty cried. "She could be tortured and killed for all we know!! Set aside your differences and SAVE HER!!"
Valentine and Joey looked at each other for a moment. Valentine hated the very soul that was a fire bender but soon succumbed to his urge of saving Tasha.
"Fine, well take Beck." Valentine said, heading out. "Marty, take Mochi and tell the other water benders. If the Equalists are here they obviously didn't come in a small party. Joey come on."
For once Valentine didn't add an insult to that. Joey followed him and they boarded Beck. With a lash they raced off to retrieve Tasha.
~ * ~
Tasha struggled, a bag over her head and herself trying to struggle out of the Equalists grip. She was thrown into a chair, feeling it fall back slightly but was stop. She felt her hands being restrained and feet. The bag was pulled off her head but before she could breath out and escape, duct tape was slapped across her mouth.
"Resisting is futile." A voice said catching Tasha's attention.
Looking to her left, she found Amon beside her. He walked into the light and tore off her headband to reveal the arrow on her forehead. He traced his finger over the arrow and said "You're different from the other nomads. Touched by the last Avatar I presume?"
Tasha only glared unable to speak.
"Being able to contact the spirit world whenever you please and speak with the spirits. You must deem yourself very lucky." Amon continued. Tasha watched his every move till he was suddenly in front of her.
"Don;t think that special talent of yours is special!!" Amon scolded. "I've heard tales of the Avatars greatest weakness, being struck while in the Avatar state. But your different, if you were to travel into the spirit world and we were to kill you.....you'd be trapped."
Tasha only glared, but a bead of sweat was rolling down the side of her head. She was becoming nervous.
"But....I can't kill you yet." Amon continued. "Clearly, you've located and talked with the next Avatar?"
Tasha eyes went wide and she tried turning away only for her face to be grabbed and look Amon in the eye holes of his mask.
"Tell me....where is the Avatar?" Amon asked aggressively.

To The Rescue!

Valentine and I crash in to see Tasha tied up by no other then Amon himself.
He turns to us immediately.
"Well, I was right - the water bender and fire bender would come to save the air bender."
He looks at me then and narrows his eyes. "Have we met before?"
I shrug. "I don't know, but I did live in Republic City until now. Anyways, since I already know you won't give Tasha back if we ask, I'll just go straight to the fighting."
I whisper to Valentine: "Get Tasha and run! I'll meet you back later."
For once, he shows slight concern. "Are you sure?"
"I wouldn't tell you if I wasn't now go, NOW!"
He sighs as I shoot blue fire balls at Amon, one of them hitting him on the chest.
"Blue fire, huh? That means that another fire bender trained you very well and at least one is still out there," he said, jumping back up to his feet.
I look at the corner of my eyes to see Valentine taking Tasha away and out of the room. I smirk. "No, I actually just trained myself, but thanks for the compliment! By the way, did you see that cop, Shane's face? Yeah, that was all me!"
Amon smiles. "We're going to have a lot of fun, you and I."

Valentine grabbed Tasha who muffled an "Ow" when he tugged at her bound wrists. Using the water in his water basin (which he snagged when they left) he cut the rope and set Tasha free. The Equalist came in, Tasha spreading his arms out and sending them flying against the wall with her air bending attacks.
"Joey, duck!" Tasha quickly said. Joey did as told and Tasha sent a whirl wind at Amon who was sent spinning and slammed into the wall. The three made a break for it, running through the tank. Valentine used his water bending to freeze all obstacles in place as they raced out, till they arrived to the exit. Tasha suddenly fell forward, Valentine there for her and asking "You okay?"
"J-Just c-cold..." Tasha replied, Valentine realizing she had her coat taken away. Valentine took off his over coat revealing himself to wear a purple sleeveless shirt. Tasha shivered and sneezed, Valentine making sure his coat was wrapped around her tightly. He gave a high whistle and Beck arrived.
"What's wrong with her?" Joey asked.
"She's cold, but if we don't get her back soon; she could experience hypothermia." Valentine said, boarding Tasha on Beck's back and turning back to Joey. For once in the times they were together, Valentine didn't stare at Joey with hate. He turned back to the tank and with quick movements, the tank was frozen in place.
"We need to get back to the Water Tribe, they made be attacking innocent water benders!" Valentine said. Tasha tried to move back only shivered, Valentine making sure she stayed on board. He took Joey's wrist and pulled her along.

Marty's Color!

(In Marty's point of view. Also, there is going to be no avatar)
Marty comes back to their resting place, noticing Mochi gone.
"Mochi, Mochi, where are you?"
"Here."
He turns around to see five Equalists surrounding him.
Marty covers his eyes as Mochi runs over and covers him. Marty gets on her back as she flies out of the Equalists' sight.
~*~
"SISSY!"
Joey turns forward with Valentine by Tasha's side on Beck's back. "MARTY!"
"THEY'RE HERE!" cry Marty, as Mochi stop in front of them.
"You stay here with Beck," order Joey, getting off Beck. "Tasha, Valentine, and I are going on Mochi and fighting them off."
Marty nods his head.
Joey turns to Beck and looks at him. "Keep my baby brother safe."
Beck smiles happily.
She gets on Mochi quickly along with Tasha and Valentine.
"Yip yip," said Tasha.
Mochi flies up and back around.
