LGBT Support Group Forum Identity vs. Writing?

I identify mostly on the T and Q parts of the LGBTQ spectrum, and for some reason I've noticed that, especially with my stream of consciousness writings, but with my writing in general, LGBTQ themes seem to pop up quite frequently.  Is it just me that does this?  I'm curious to know if it's even possible to separate personal identity from our writing.  On the one hand, it's a part of who we are and influences us constantly, not to mention when we write.  On the other hand, what if you don't want LGBTQ themes to dominate your writing?  Has anyone found a good compromise?
