[no subject]18 Years AgoI'm planning on doing it when I get home from work and after cooking and having dinner. Usually I can't sleep right away anyway so it's a good time.

[no subject]18 Years AgoTime, time, time. . .
Yeah, this one is tricky. I work third-shift so already there goes the normal writing hours (at least that's what I've gathered: most people like writing at night). HOWEVER, my job is pretty mindless so I can be mindful on the story while I'm working (I even have access to the Internet because I do the shipping). So I can at least take notes, if not write a few lines here and there. I usually write for a couple of hours after work - from 7:30am to maybe noon sometimes. I will - an absolute must - have to buy a month's supply of apple juice and chai tea though. I have my incense (though I'd prefer some candles - I have one that smells like bamboo). No drugs but plenty of caffeine for the weekends. When I'm not writing I'm researching. Lots of times, I can get information that inspires... I've been reading a lot about Jack the Ripper (have at least five books, plus casebook.org) as well as some other things. I do not have all the books I want though: still need to get off my arse and order 'em from Amazon. The ones I want come from the UK and take a while to ship (months even). Needless to say this won't help the writing. Hmm... I'm going to have to cut back on a lot of reading it seems and stick mainly just to writing (guess that's the idea anyway). One month. Starting Tuesday at midnight. Wow. What have we gotten into here? |

[no subject]18 Years AgoI find that if I schedule things I wind up having less time for them than I wish, therefore I try not schedule at all. I plan on writing before bedtime and ignoring read requests for the entire month of November.

[no subject]18 Years AgoHAHA, is that subject when Jessy Spano took the caffeine pills and they acted like she was drugged out? Anyway, yes we are moving into Day 3 of Nano and I am already behind on my daily goals. But, I had an epiphany tonight and I am gonna write all day tomorrow as it is my day off. My suggestion, have a plot skeleton with like 10 different points you are writing towards. Then, all you have to do is fill in the gaps. Seems to keep me motivated.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE |

[no subject]18 Years Ago::cry:: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggghh! Got well and truly into the rhythm, posted 6000 words over the first 2 days and, guess what??
My PC has gone on strike!!!!!!! new USB hub @ 16.00, new motherboard @ 40.00, motherboard refuses to recognise my External Drivwe where my NaNo is saved .... and no, thanks a million smart@ss, I DIDN'T make a backup on floppy or CD!!! I'm left with a very expensive electronic typewriter and an unfinished Chapter 2, but at least I can hack along with Chapter 3 and go back when I've had an IT johnny give it the once over, probably going to be Monday before that happens ::cry:: |

[no subject]18 Years AgoHa, get out of my boat! (We're both in the same boat?)
Anyways. . . Same deal here. And when I do actually write something, I'm sacrificing so much quality just to get the words - like I'm doing this thing that takes place in 1888 (Jack the Ripper time) and I've given up on researching their dialects, slang and colloquialisms and am just having fun with their speech now. And the research. . . ! I'm not nearly done with what I wanted to know - and I've gone on so many tangents (I'm reading about the human voice right now, come on), but this thing must get done. I think the most important thing is the actual events IN the plot, not the actual plot. All the inaccuracies can slide for now, then go dub your thoughts afterwards (this is what I'm telling myself anyhow). So what do you want to write about? There's got to be something that catches your eye? I just watched (yet another distraction) the movie "Adaptation." Was good. |
|
[no subject]18 Years Agoi honestly want to write some poetry. i've gotten so used to it, to being short, concise...with no flattering long worded adjectives and sentences that its so hard for me to go on and on about something or someone.
i just watched that "New World" movie....i'm a hopeless romantic so i loved it. Oh and "Click"! awesome. |

[no subject]18 Years Agookay i'm so screwed. i'm going to be done at 10000 words, with the way i'm going. >.<

[no subject]18 Years AgoSo I did something totally inane and ridiculous and signed up for Nanowrimo today -- halfway through the month. I've had an idea in my mind so hopefully this will kick my a*s into gear. I highly doubt I'll get to the 50000 goal, but 10000 would be a nice start. I'm actually a bit excited. Okay, no more time for posting, gotta put my nose to the grind...
Keep in touch, y'all. |
