No "Write" Way Forum Endings

Endings are not my strong suit. I asked Writer's Cafe users. This is what they told me.

1. Fulfill All Promises
    2. Character Dependent Ending
    3. Open ended/ Linger/ Leave the reader thinking/strong impact/desire for more
    4. Read. Read. Read.

What do you think? How do you end your stories? Do you write with the end in mind, or just hope it will work itself out by the time you get there?
