You caught me through with a knife Thought I could trust you as a friend But you put me on life's end I thought you could be of any benefit But you seek to make me your profit I would have pardoned you without a strife Oh, but how you have drained my life! How you have washed through my brain My energy and might you have drained With your sweet talks like sugar cane Now you left me alone with the pain Oh, how I love to stand But that's a dream in another land You have exhausted all my strength And left me without a breath Oh, you are greed!
