Poetry Challenge Forum Scared Much?

Write or select something already written, poetry, fiction or vignette - 500 words or so that makes the reader shudder. Catch: make it something creative, a setting that shouldn't normally terrify - try scaring the reader without the usual vampire, ghost, ghoul or stalk and slash gore mechanisms. Creep us out with a different twist. Bunnies that know your thoughts, butterflies that swarm and steal the sunlight (or your breath) a black hole in your favorite coffee cup - have fun. 

Does it have to be 500 words? My stuff seems to be way under or way over that.

I am fine with anything Momzilla - thinking the word count is more a suggestion. I'm like that too.
