Just playing out your part
When all the love and laughter has been
Extinguished from your heart
When every opportunity
Seems to slip when in your grasp
When every insecurity
Is present from your past
When every future goal is undermined
By present pain
When every time you wake
You wish for sleepful peace again
When peace has ceased to find a place
To dwell within your mind
When polluting your own soul
Is the solace that you find
When the hurting is just lurking
At every turning you are torn

When you feel like you're following on
Playing the part of the pawn..

If you can stand your ground
You''ll gain the strength to walk away
If you can cut your losses
You will free your thoughts from pain
If you make peace with hate
You will free your heart from war
If you can face your fate
You will fear the end no more
If your soul knows understanding
You will find the will to say
"I'm the only one there is of me
I'll start living from today"
If you accept redemption
And with honour; Carry on
Your heart will fill with dignity
And then the change will come
