WEAK economic growth, with business investment falling and households cutting their discretionary spending, has led Kevin Rudd to warn the economy would be plunged into recession under an Abbott-led Coalition government.  


The national accounts -- released yesterday showing growth of just 2.6 per cent in the past 12 months, down from 3.7 per cent a year ago -- returned the management of the economy to the centre of the election debate.
