The Undead Forum Why Do You Believe?

What stories and abilities do yuo believe vampires have or aquired during the years? Why do you even believe in them if there is no prove?

Vampires, or Vrikolakes, as we call them in Greece, do exist. Every single town or village in my country is full of real, as the people say, stories about vampires. In Roumeli (Western Greece) one becomes a vampire if he/she have never been baptised, or commited suicide, or was a serial killer, or cursed by a holy man. These are mostly the reasons why someone has became a vampire. The myth that a vampire can't enter your home unless you invite them in has its origins in Roumeli. In fact, a vampire knocks only once at your door calling your name. You should not answer the door if you want to live nor reply something like: "Who's there". That is why villagers answer their doors only if someone knocks twice or more. Vampires are usually calling your name when you walk at night in the countryside. You should never reply, nor look back. If you go in a small town, village, or island on a holiday make sure that the people you meet there walk in the daylight...
