Yira Simone	[no subject] 17 Years Ago I have had the pleasure of reading the others who have submitted their work for this contest. I must say I was amazed and happy with the results and the talent of each individual piece. It was hard to use a list of 101 words and cram them all into 150 word piece! lol. If I could I would crown you all, because you all did a great job. But I must choose only one. I have made my choice based on the 3 rules Valerie gave: 1.) Message 2.) Amount of words from list. 3.) Compliance with word usage. I feel Ghetto Fabuluos Marines did just that. My vote is for James. His message stood out the most with me.

Katie B	[no subject] 17 Years Ago Is it to late to give my piece. I just joined today. I wrote 118 words and only 16 of the words. I have to say it was pretty hard but defiantly fun to be able to stretch my mind to include these words and still have the poem sound good. I wouldn't say this is my best work though. I gave it a shot. The Year Book Computer class, double click. Shoot or dunk, take your pick. The cafeteria, an interesting scene, teenagers mill in amazing variety. Eggheads in the corner, by themselves, studying genes and DNA, the basics of biology. Punks and stoners hiding in the back, looking to sneak out when supervision lacks. As always the ones with whom to be, ghetto fabulous reigns supreme. Don't forget the thirsty ones, you�ll find them around the pop machine. Breaking out the awesome moves, going crazy in the hip hop scene. To look sexy in your prime, Wonder bras, kitten heels, and above the knee hem lines. The pictures show all we see, what was cool and what was hip. The yearbook keeps our memories. Katie

Hem-lines of the Mini-skirt In sixty-five went retro. The Big Apple lost to Tokyo As largest worldwide metro. In sixty-six, Walt Disney died, He's Mickey Mouse's dad. Psychedelic, acid colors Became the latest fad. Sixty-seven, a heart transplant, The first in history. Sixty-eight took MLK And Bobby Kennedy. Sixty-nine brought Woodstock, Sex, drugs and Rock and Roll. Americans on the moon And Nixon wins the poll. Cheerio, cool, hip sixties, The decade with a flair. If you remember it at all, You weren't really there.
