Love Is A Rose..by Michael

Thirteen year old Tommy would soon graduate elementary school from eighth grade. He was a shy young boy and didn't know how to really express his feelings. The crush he had on Teresa who sat in front him, was the one he cared about and wanted to see her after school was over. It wasn't until he spotted some roses in his parents garden. This would be the perfect way of expressing himself to her. Tommy plucked up a single red rose and wrapped it in aluminum foil that Sunday to take to his class on Monday. He casually left on the desk in front of him as she went to the young ladies room. Teresa came back just before class was over and saw the gift. She turned around and smiled, as if woman's intuition knew where it came from. Her crush on him was exactly the same and she also was a shy person. However this seemed to break the ice as their communication began. They attended the same high school and eventually the same college. A rose was often left on her desk as not only smiles, but hugs and kisses were exchanged after school was let out. Now thirty year not so shy anymore Tommy married Teresa. During the wedding reception she left the table to go to the ladies room. A rose awaited her when she returned.....Maybe we express ourselves with an item found in a garden. Shyness disappears and is replaced with the constant flower that made it all happen. Case in point in a short love story about Tommy and Teresa, along with love is a rose......
