Where They Once Loved..by Michael

Mandy owned two cats which she had bought from the animal shelter. They were mother and daughter, so she named them Stella and Bella. Her new pets got used to the litter box right away and knew exactly where to find their bowl of food and water right next to each in the hallway between the living room and the kitchen. Both would jump up on her bed at night and cuddle up with their new loving owner. The purring sound was a sign of contentment. Before fixing her dinner, Mandy would open a small bag of treats which she threw one at a time in each of their direction. Stella and Bella would then stare at Mandy, waiting for the next one. A handful was sufficient as both cats were satisfied from their nightly ritual. Mandy wouldn't sleep until her two little darlings jumped up on the bed and cuddled up with her. They would also sit on the couch with her in the living room as she watched T V during the day. The love between all three of them was strong as if they were her children. Stella the mother passed away as her time was up. Bella the daughter did the same six months later as Mandy cried and mourned the loss of her two little girls. Many sleepless nights followed until something very special and unexpected happened. Mandy felt two distinct thumps on the bed and then felt the warmth she missed for so long. The sound of purring was heard and Mandy felt their presence and love once again. She was now able to fall asleep, knowing that her children came to visit her. Mandy continues to throw treats as they disappear right before eyes.....Maybe we have two visitors return to a place where they once loved.....Case in point in a short love story about Mandy, Stella, and Bella.....
