Hmm... I would have to say playing guitar and practicing the bo staff is my favorite right now. I am also catching up on the walking dead while occasionally indulging on a scary movie. Hanging out with friends is up there too but obviously not right now. Skating is fun but rather painful. Aaaaaand that's about all I could put before I go on a rant about my favorite podcasts. Yup.

Ooh skating; I love skateboarding. Tho I busted my knee a week back so I’m waiting for that to heal haha. Who knew a tiny pebble could cause a major wipeout?

I love to listen to beautiful music, take walks and just enjoy the day. I also love to read and I find solace in reading the Bible and praying.

My routine is similar pre or post 'end of the world' scenario. Listening to classical music in the morning while having breakfast, going for a walk with my wife  and then reading in the afternoon--and taking a nap [well,I am in my 70's!]. Then later we watch TV-- big movie fan, as well as all Brit TV shows. The 'boring' part is the utter sameness of each day--no chance to meet friends or go out to a restaurant. But we're all living thru history, aren't we? --an entire WORLD under house arrest!

Writing is my favorite indoor activity and outside it's hiking and cycling...

I enjoy loom knitting, exchanging books and postcards, watching quiz shows and shouting out answers, going for long walks, learning languages, reading and listening to music.

Sarah, I joined a few days ago and agree that Writers Café is really spread out. My guess is because there are so many groups instead of just a forum of genres. Probably can't change that but it's certainly not my cup of tea. And I also noticed that even in this group there's very few replies to a person's post. Nobody replied to mine or to the post I made. Is this typical of Café in general or just my first impression?

Well,

I am a bit of a curious mind so I'll endulge in anything and everything: baking, art, sports, history, crochet, music, travel, languages, Horseback riding... I do eveything equally except writing. Writing is the thing that soothes me and I can not get enough of it...and my dog.

Hello all, I'm new around here but it 's nice getting to know you all. Currently my absolute favorite thing to do is to just sit on my deck and watch all the comings and goings of the local wildlife. Squirrels, deer, chipmunks, turkeys, woodpeckers, chickadees, sparrows, blue jays, foxes, coyotes, skunks, weasels, rabbits, crows, opossums, groundhogs, doves, robins, a grumpy black bear, and one very feisty abandoned baby raccoon all going about their lives. As crazy as the last two and a half months have been it's kind of comforting seeing just how well other creatures are thriving in the absence of humans. Other than that, midnight jogs along empty roads are my jam.

I like playing games, reading detective stories, editing videos,  singing and watching WWE. But obviously it all comes after studying and writing :)

IN REPLY TO AC: I can relate--we live in an town only 10 miles from Philly, but our little 1/4 backyard looks like a zoo with all those animals you mentioned plus wild turkeys, buzzards (!) and deer--one of which died last year after eating at our holly tree [I tried chasing her away 3 times]. Wrote a poem commemorating her sad end and it's been published in a couple of lit mags--so people do still relate to the 'wild'.

The deer have been leaving their fawns in my backyard during the day. That was fun to watch until the wild turkeys chased them and me off. I don't think I've ever been as startled as I was when that crazy bird came flying out of the brush at my face. Well, I say flying but I was slightly downhill and what the turkey did was more of an awkward, flapping fall towards the trees below and behind me.

My tip for keeping the animals away from dangerous stuff is the careful use of a nerf gun. Far be it from me to interfere in the circle of life, but I do have one rule for the animals that live near my shack. "No eating babies!" The nerf gun is a same way to get that point across. Last week, two crows were lifting a baby bunny into the air while the parental bunnies bounced around in circles on the ground. A waffle dart to one of the birds wings was enough for both to drop the rabbit and to allow it to hop to safety. I've also used it to chase the bear away from the trash can. It works.

I wrangle children, and all the madness that such entails.
