An Ode to New Love

An Ode to New Love

A Poem by sivan

From darkess and thoughts

lost to memory

you pulled me.

Slow vines,

your disguise, came creeping,

creeping further.

Wrapping me in your all consuming beauty-

Taking me away

from my own fury.

The lines across my face

start fading,

The tiredness in my eyes

is lost

between my smile

and the thought of tomorrow,

Tomorrow with you.

And now I know

what I feel for you.

This is a beautiful piece reminding all who read exactly what new love feels like. You've captured the feeling all would like to share ... "what I feel for you" softly spoken with trembling lips. This is excellent work ... a little dream to carry off to starry eyed sleep.

"Slow vines,
your disguise, came creeping,
creeping further."

This is gorgeous. What resonated with me the most was not so much the transition to a new love but the feeling of being stuck in the old love. That metaphor of the creeping vines was just brilliant.
