Fluorescent Eyes

Fluorescent Eyes

A Poem by Kristin Brecoe
"

She sits and watches someone she loves dearly, and wishes they could talk like they used to.

"

Crystal blue pools glisten

Against fluorescent lights,

As I watch his lips move silently,

Speaking words I try hard to grasp.

For a month now

His freedom of speech

Has been stripped away,

In hopes of improvement.

Whether he's telling me he loves me,

Misses me,

Or asks the time,

I just can't understand him.

But I can understand the look

He expresses in his eyes,

As he tries to get

Something important across.

His tired blue eyes

Burn through mine,

Melting all the strength

I barely have left.

Pain, love, and fear

Suffocate the earnest light

His adoring eyes once held,

As he watches me watch him.

Critique and give your interpretation.

So far I got a pretty neat interpretation.

This makes me feel so must sadness. What it means to me is you are watching your love one dieing from a sickness that has taken his speech. Wonderfully penned.

He did some other chick when he was drunk last Saturday. lol. jk, but it really does kind of sound like he has a heavy secret of some kind. :P I love this poem, as I love ALL of your poems!! Thanks for sending me read requests (as I asked of you), because I have trouble picking which ones to read!!

WoW! Very thought-provoking hehe, and im kinda speechless lol. Very beautifully created poem, and it does make you think a bit. But, i do know that just by looking into someone's eyes, you can either tell if they are truthful or just another person filled with a bunch of bs lol. This really got me thinking. Great poem :)
