Condolence

It hurts real bad when we lose someone we love, but it always helps if we have someone to get us through. I wrote this poem for a friend of mine...

When we give a person

In our heart, a special place

It hurts so much when

It’s the finish of life’s long race

--------

The pangs of pain and sorrow

Knock earnest at our door

But what counts is when we

Remember such one with ardor

--------

The floodgates of tears

Which threaten to burst each minute

Only serve to show the greatness of our love

And our care, boundless as infinite

--------

The good and the bad times

The moments we spent together

The laughter that we shared

Should help us pull ourselves together

---------

And so, even with heavy hearts

We smile again, for we know

That no matter how it hurts

To a better place, our loved ones go
