Mother

A Poem by One Hundred Fingers

Two of you and one of me
I can't speak and you can't hear
Every day - a mystery
Should I hope or should I fear

Two of me and one of you
When I speak no one believes
Lies accepted - not the truth
Everything within me grieves

Sorrow so deep, pain beyond words
Why should I speak if I'll never be heard?
If home should be safe, why do I want to flee?
If this truly is love, why do I not feel free?

Why do I not feel free?
