"

Another little bit of slam poetry from a few years back

"
Pacing
across the room
tormented
Vision of memories hit my mind
Dark strong coffee at midnight
The glow
of bare skin
in the moonlight
We've come so far
fallen so fast
Sleeping
in your arms at night
makes me realize
I could stay there for all time
if you'd have me
I can't imagine my world without you now
Nearly a year in the past
and the day we met
lives fresh in my mind
But never in a thousand lifetimes
could I see then
what we are now
How did I become so lucky?
Finally
I have someone
I can share myself with
who doesn't judge
Who welcomes the baggage
I keep in tow
I try to show him
who I am
and what I want
My tongue
gets caught
up in feelings
and the past
My mind's
a steel
trap
How can I set this animal free?

About
So, I've always been a bit of a writer. Dribble here drabble there, never really finishing anything at all. Opening up anything I've written to critique is a huge step for me but I'm tired of not havi.. more..
