"

because i'm so tall

Skyscraper

I tower like a skyscraper,

Looking down at my fellow buildings,

And wonder, what if?

What if I were smaller?

If I were Short, sweet, and small.

If you could see the top of me?

Would people treat me normally then,

If I was like everyone else?

Would the discriminating stares vanish?

Or would they just find something else to stare for?

If I were not a skyscraper,

What would I be?

I've always had to deal with the opposite problem; I've always been the token 'short girl' and there's definitely judgement that goes with that. I've always just assumed it would be better if you were tall but now I have a whole new perspective on that.

Nicely done, simple and honest. It is sad how people discriminate against those who are physically different. Your subtle expression is quite refreshing, yet as subtle as it may be, your sensitivity shines through clearly. Awesome!
