Nothing, or Everything?

She's walking down the hall

with him

does it mean everything?

or nothing?

he likes marvel

and sports

and people

so does she

both of them are smart

they probably have multiple classes together

and see each other all the time

she's naturally good

at talking to people

and she's funny

I'm neither of these things

But I also like marvel 

and I can learn to understand sports

people, not so much, 

but maybie sports

but I'm bad at talking

I freeze when I see him

and my voice comes out in a whisper

or I say the worst possible things

I like him

and the thought of him gets me through each day

and it motivates me to do better

but I have given him no reason to like me

and now

I might have let him just slip through my fingers

like a hand full of sand

slowly drifting away

until there's nothing left 

but a memory

a memory of him with her

and the pain

deep inside

that he'll never know of
