Dental Troglodyte

Dental Troglodyte

A Poem by Ron
"

Anyone else had this? Just a bit of fun. Pure doggerel for the Hell of it. Guess what I had this weekend?

"
I know he's there. Nocturnal beast!
Lives in cavities in my teeth.

He's wide awake, when I try to sleep.
That tiny, evil, troglodyte!
And on my pain he nightly feasts.

His tools?  A 'Black and Decker' drill.
And a hammer-drill is this machine!
"Whine and whine, rap, tap, tap!"

It drills and slams through my dentine.
And Molten metal, the holes to fill,
Glows white hot, in his crucible.

Drills and hammers deep and deep,
Till the deepest nerves are reached.
The crucible with white hot tongs
Tips molten metal!  Hissing sounds!

With a wrench, the tooth he twists
Agonies and hell persist.
Wretched pains I can't resist.
Bloody drill clenched in fist!

When Black & Decker is burnt right through
A German Bosch he reveals, 'as new'!
The bloody drill-bit is sharp and long.
Penetration" is the Troglodyte song.

When the metal cools pains do soothe.
Then the metal core he'll drill anew.
Then down this hole, fresh, new made,
He drops a Troglodyte hand grenade.

Tumbling down to a bony floor
EXPLODES!  Near splitting an aching jaw.

In fresh blown pit a pressure grows
Abscess tightens, ruby glows.
Bubbling just like pumpkin soup
Pus is pulsing, scoop on scoop.

And so he goes, for the whole night too.
Rings peels of joy, leaps tooth to tooth!
"Must find balm to ease the roots."
The pain I try to beat with Oralgel and Anadin.

For just one moment the pain departs.
But he's soon resistant and soon restarts.

Today the Troglodyte meets his match
Its Dentist time!  At last, at last!
In the chair I fear no pain
"Just kill the little beast again!"

Forceps, drill, amalgam cap.
He's gone! Caught dead in dental trap.

But time will pass and then one year
Troglodyte kin will re appear
In a small, new cavity
Will come again to live in me!
