A freed soul is never truly free

A freed soul is never truly free

A Poem by V.J.C.

Soul entrapped has finally been set free
given a chance
to grab on to an old desire,
heart soars higher then ever before

Land so wild,
 untamed heart
bursts with emotion.
Knees give out,
pain forgotten
for tears are now released.

The simple complexity of this land
bewilders  the senses,
brings a sense of peace.
 weights lift from overburdened shoulders,
A smile long missed twitches at the edge of your lips.

 Horse's greeting you,
such a simple thing
brings life back into your tortured heart.
Nature's call,
heart beats swiftly
and eyes consume all that can be seen.

The fear of a life again imprisoned stabs at the mind,
shadows of the past awaken.
beauty of the moment is tainted,
happiness once again a foreign thought.

"shadows of the past awaken.

This is such a beautiful poem, very sad one as well. It is a lesson to use all. How quickly, we let the simple things in nature bring us gifts of peace, yet set it aside overwhelmed by what taunts us inside.

There is no real freedom. We must find places where can taste freedom and enjoy the dance.
"Nature's call,
heart beats swiftly
and eyes consume all that can be seen.'
A wise person can find beauty and peace in nature. Nature is in peace with itself. She takes what she need. Thank you for the excellent poem.
